Every person can be part of the conversation.
Together we can address problems of gender-based violence and work towards a world with consent.

“DRAWING THE LINE: ART THERAPY WORKSHOP"

Time: 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Location: 280A York Lanes

This Art Therapy Workshop will begin with psycho-education around consent and how to create healthy boundaries for personal safety, and then followed by art therapy experiential, group sharing, and then a mindfulness practice to help participants ground. The goal is for participants to know why consent/boundaries are important, what boundaries are important to them to help them feel safe/empowered, and how they can assert these boundaries in a healthy and safe way.

“A CONVERSATION WITH INTIMACY DIRECTOR SIOBHAN RICHARDSON”

Time: 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: VH 1152A

Intimacy Choreography is the practice of staging, rehearsing, and performing scenes of physical touch, most notably scenes of sexuality, and of familial intimacy. Consent, agreements, boundaries and parameters are an essential element of this artistic craft. This talk shares and discusses some of these practices

“EXPLORING CONSENT WITH DESIGN THINKING”

Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Location: 213 Bergeron

A design thinking workshop working with participants on how to create consent materials. This will be an open space to create new ideas to populate the idea of consent using the design thinking process.

TALKING TO CHILDREN ABOUT THEIR BODIES AND SAFETY

Time: 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: 303 Founders College (Brian Cragg Room)

This is an interactive workshop for parents, caregivers, and service providers of children. This workshop provides increased understanding of where children are receiving their messages around sexuality, how to address safety messages around sexuality, and tips on how to answer children's questions about sexuality.

LET’S TALK ABOUT SEX!

Time: 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Location: 303 Founders College (Brian Cragg Room)

This workshop will cover information on what is consent; what are the legal ages of consent and work through some scenarios to discuss in more detail about consent. During this discussion there will also be some information on STIs, pleasure and general information on sexual health.

LEARNING TO BEAD & DISCUSSING NAVIGATING CONSENT ONLINE

Time: 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Location: 301 York Lanes (The Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support & Education)

Natural crystals have been used throughout many different cultures during every age. Start your path by learning about crystals and beading while navigating conversations on how we seek consent on online platforms and social media.

Thursday October 10th 2019

BUILDING CONSENT IN THE WORKPLACE WORKSHOP

Time: 12:00 – 1:00pm
Location: 626 Kaneff Tower

This workshop will explore tangible ways to ensure consent is always present during workplace meetings, discussions and how to create a culture of consent within the work place. Participants will be asked to participate in navigating scenarios and creating solutions for barriers that can exist.

“ACTIVE BYSTANDER TRAINING SESSION”

Time: 11:30am-1:00pm
Location: 307 Student Centre

This workshop provides participants the opportunity to view themselves as leaders in supporting survivors, empowering each other to step up when problematic behaviours are occurring and engage in understanding the continuum of sexual violence. The aim of the workshop is to engage participants to feel confident to analyze the situation, access supports available and ensure the community is aware of all resources available. The Active Bystander training is taught by peers in the York University community, and certificates will be distributed to those who attend the workshop.

Stress Management Workshop
